Create a winning tender to win valuable public sector contracts

A range of reforms to public sector procurement rules by the Irish Government in August 2010 makes it easier for companies to tender for Government contracts.  In addition, a new suite of ‘request for tender’ documents released in July 2011 will change the procurement methods used by buyers in future, creating changes for tendering methods of suppliers to the public sector.

Tender Team has assisted companies in winning € 180 million of contracts in Ireland and abroad in 2010 and is the market leader in this area in Ireland with unique experience in providing tender support for companies across many sectors every day.

This seminar will provide the most up to date information on the procurement market, and Wayne Dignam, managing director of Tender Team, will provide unique insight into how to devise a winning tender.

Find out:

  • · What all these rules changes mean for you, and how it makes it easier to tender
  • · How SMEs in particular are encouraged to tender for contracts
  • · How you need to tender from now on to comply with new requirements
  • · How to ‘Price to Win’
  • · What are the opportunities in Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and abroad?
  • · How to stand out against your competitors
  • · How to compile a winning proposal
  • · Understanding public procurement rules
  • · Learn through an interactive workshop

Programme

  • · Statutory Instruments in Ireland that are the rules of the process
  • · Assessment criteria that Contracting Authorities use
  • · Demonstrating technical capability
  • · Selling your proposed personnel for the contract
  • · Demonstrating your compliance with quality, environmental and health and safety requirements
  • · Managing the process within your company
  • · Procurement trends
  • · Interactive session in the afternoon answering a typical request for tender

 Who should attend

  • · Private Companies seeking public sector contracts
  • · Any individual interested in public sector contracts

 Special notes

Delegates have the option of bringing a sample prequalification or proposal with them and will be assessed in strict confidence and privately.

Developing Enterprises Skillnet

The great news is that we got approval for Developing Enterprises Skillnet and we can now start organising training for you.

The idea for DES originated when the immediate need to identify and assist the enterprises in the BMW region was realised through talking with start up businesses, SMEs and family run businesses through out the Border, Midlands and Western Region.

Many of these enterprises have already experienced the benefits from shared, focused and valued training. This innovative network, which is unique in its approach, provides an opportunity for companies from different industry sizes, markets and sectors, with similar of their own unique training needs, to work collaboratively together to up-skill, educate further and consequently enhance their primary asset, their dedicated workforce.

The vision of DES is to embed the culture of active ownership, participation and driving of all the network activities by the member companies. The network is currently focused in the BMW region but has the potential to grow beyond this in the future.

Members include: startup enterprises; enterprises which have a vacuum due to loss of skills and expertise due to the recession; family run businesses which have also lost skills but lack the expertise to grow or diversify and many which experience a lack of local specific professional and technical training, at a cost that they can afford.Reaction to the proposed network has been significantly greater than expected.

We will be posting dates and locations for training courses very soon. We will be in touch.

On a final note we have an RFT for Trainers on eTenders and the closing date in 7pm Monday 22nd August – see the notice here: bit.ly/qjKxD7 or contact developingenterprisesskillnet@gmail.com

Kind regards,

Caroline McDonagh

Network Manager

Help us help you keep your business in business.

A bit about Us

Developing Enterprises Skillnet(DES) is a network which is under development and is subject to approval, has indentified gaps in training for many businesses in the Border, Midlands & Western region.

Many businesses which have been affected by the recession include family run businesses, small, start up enterprises, medium and large enterprises.

These businesses are experiencing problems due to the loss of people, expertise and know how. Other problems include lack of access to credit, sales expertise, assistance with the next phase of business growth amongst other challenges.

Many businesses do not know the next way to turn and where to find the right help for them. Quite often businesses simply need relevant and targeted training to get them on the right path to keeping their business in business and provide the tools for growth.

DES will provide flexible and cost effective training, defined by YOU and will target companies in the Border, Midlands & Western region which includes:
- all size enterprises which have been affected by the recession/downturn
- Family run businesses
- Start up enterprises
- the unemployed

W would like you to fill out our survey and tell us about your training needs for the next 6 months. The link is:
